Pilot Projects
I Am Well Foundation is dedicated to implementing pilot projects that serve our communities and demonstrate the effectiveness of the Whole Person Centered Optimal Health & Wellness Model. Many of our Pilot Projects become long-term intervention strategies. View our most current projects below.
I Am Well Darke County
I Am Well Foundation is headquartered in Darke County, OH. Our first pilot program, I Am Well Darke County, connects residents of Darke County and surrounding areas with model-based events, a local Healthy You Dash, providers and practitioners, and a model-based physical space. In addition to serving the local community, I Am Well Darke County is designed as a pilot project to identify best practices in culturally relevant, accessible, community-based interventions that can be duplicated throughout the United States. Cultural Wellness Training Programs
One of I Am Well Foundation’s key mission focuses is to advance the use of the Whole Person Optimal Health and Wellness Model and the Whole Person Approach in America’s health and wellness systems. In November of 2023, I Am Well Foundation was pleased to have received a grant from the Trailhead Institute and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment pursuant to HB 22-1267 to provide Cultural Wellness Trainings to teach agencies and providers about the Whole Person Model and Cultural Validation techniques that break down disparities, improve health outcomes for marginalized communities, and increase access to care. By the end of the project period, our program partnership provided more than 25 in-person trainings reaching more than 867 Colorado providers and public health ambassadors. We focused our first national programming efforts on Colorado because Colorado is a national leader in the efforts to break down barriers and increase access to care for vulnerable populations. Our partners in this program included Colorado’s Julissa Soto Latino Health Equity Consulting and All People Thriving, whose life and work is rooted in both Colorado and Ohio (where I Am Well Foundation is headquartered). As part of this grant, I Am Well Foundation was also able to develop and launch the Cultural Wellness Online Training Portal, where Colorado Providers could access online trainings focused on the Whole Person Approach, Cultural Validation techniques, and working with a wide range of populations. Several communities were added with the initial launch, and new communities and training topics being added regularly. Today, Cultural Wellness Training Programs are available to Providers in Colorado and throughout the United States.
